Using Sales Funnel To Build Network Marketing Business

Using Sales Funnel To Build Network Marketing Business

Are you not seeing the results from your network marketing funnels business that others are raving about?

Has your CRM for network marketing hit a lull?

Let me explain what you might be doing wrong and also how to use a sales funnel to build your business and boost to your network marketing strategies.

Sales funnels are a necessity when it comes to today’s consumer. Why? Consumers want to gather and study all the information before making a decision to purchase an item — and a sales funnel facilitates that.

They’re also looking for the lowest price when it comes to these items, which means that digital marketers, like yourself, need new strategies in order to build up their network marketing CRM and business overall.

Let’s say If you watched something online or you have received a link from someone saying they have a great opportunity, you would have seen the videos that show off how they are making seven-figure salaries.

You are eager and want to earn a seven-figure salary too, so you start your network marketing business.

After some time, you realise that you just aren’t seeing the money rolling in like was promised.

Don’t worry; you’re not the only one.

The problem is that tactics that you have probably heard are well outdated and too basic, especially when it comes to digital marketing.

For internet marketing sales funnels, you need to be up-to-date with the latest trends. Gone are the days of cold-calling and sending advertisements in the mail when it comes to marketing. Now you need the latest online tools and customer information to gain a strong consumer base.

As such, it is the time you step into the present and start using digital marketing and a sales funnel to reach your target.

Quick review – what is a sales funnel? A sales funnel is a process you create that your potential customers go through when they transition from visitors online into paying customers.

Furthermore, a smart sales funnel basically represents the whole traditional sales funnel that is found in a single website. It also automatically recognizes the visitor and will only show them the features that correspond with their place in the sales funnel, e.g. if they are classified as potential customer or returning customer.

Ok, now that you know what a typical sales funnel is, here are some old marketing tactics to avoid when building a new network marketing business.

Network Marketing Lies — What You Shouldn’t Be Doing

Before I move onto how you can use a sales funnel to build your network marketing business, I want to cover which of those ‘old school’ methods you shouldn’t be doing anymore.

I would be surprised if you haven’t been told at least one of the following lies before which is why you’re probably seeking help in this very blog post right now.

Such things as trying to recruit all your friends and family will only leave you wondering what to do when you’ve exhausted that list and also the embarrassment of rejection and failure.

Let’s move onto some tactics that are useless or outdated and should be avoided.

It’s A Numbers Game

This is like the classic throw it at the wall and see if it sticks method.

You may have been told to try and recruit just about everyone and anyone you can think of because the more people you contact, the more you will recruit.

While this seems all very well and good, it just isn’t true.

Yes, you will get some recruits out of it but not as much as if you were to use a planned sales funnel.

You will be wasting time on contacts that have a very low chance of signing up which you could be using on more qualified contacts.

It’ll Take Off After One More Recruit

I’m not quite sure why some network marketing leaders say this.

It does nothing but give you false hope.

It will also keep you from seeing the big picture as you will be too focused on getting your next recruit.

Forget whether your next recruit is what will make your network marketing business explode.

The only thing that will make your network marketing business takes off… is you.

Focus more on what strategies you can put in place with the help of my sales funnel tips.

Spend Most Of Your Time Looking For Prospects

When you watch some (not all) help videos on network marketing, they will advise you to get out and about and put yourself in front of people.

This is yet another huge time waster; you’re not an employee of your business, you are the owner, and so you need to work on your business and not in it.

Finding prospects is just one aspect of your network marketing business, so you need to work on a sales funnel that incorporates all aspects and not just one.

Do Home Meetings

This is a very outdated method of running a network marketing business.

If you have been working super hard doing home meetings, handing out flyers at the local supermarket and organising lunch meetings, you have probably wasted a lot of your time I’m afraid to say.

There are much more modern efficient and better ways to recruit than home visits.

Such things include social media, paid traffic, landing pages and email marketing that I will move onto now.

Now that I have spoken about things you shouldn’t be doing or focusing on, it’s time to move onto how you can use a sales funnel to build your network marketing business.

Finding Interest

The first stage of a sales funnel is to find prospects.

This doesn’t mean you need to go even out of the house and hand out flyers and or call round to people’s homes.

You can find thousands of prospects right from the comfort of your living room.

Everything is digital; from how we communicate with each other, how we find information and how we work.

This is why you need to adapt your network marketing business into digital to reap the rewards you set out to achieve.

1. Social Media

One of the best places to look online for prospects is on the different social media network.

A great place to start is to use Facebook to search for friends of friends.

By now, I’m guessing you have exhausted your list of friends and family so moving onto local friends of friends is a good move.

You can send direct messages to friends of friends but not strangers.

If you have exhausted the list of friends of friends and moved onto strangers that you find in groups or pages, you can pay-per-message.Otherwise, your messages will be sent to their “other” inbox that no-one ever sees.

Otherwise, your messages will be sent to their “other” inbox that no-one ever sees.

Keep in mind, this is still ‘manual prospecting’ at some level which we want to try and move away from.

2. Paid Traffic

Another great way to find focused prospects is with paid traffic.

Using AdWords and Facebook Ads, you can set demographics to target people who best suit your target audience.

This is so much better than just trying to recruit everyone and hope for the best.

Using focused targeting; you will only be promoting your offer to those who are likely to be interested.

You can also set remarketing pixels on your landing page, so if someone doesn’t join but keeps visiting, your ad will continue to pop up around the web to remind them of your offer.

To utilize paid to advertise to its fullest potential, you want to make sure you create a strong offer and target the right audience.

If you can bring those two parts of the advertising direction together then you have a solid strategy to put yourself in front of people who want to buy what you’re selling.

Whether you’re selling an opportunity or you’re selling a product.

Generating Prospects

Now that you have discovered where prospects are hanging out on the world wide web, the next stage is to get them to become interested in what you have to offer.

Again, this doesn’t mean that you have to pick up the phone or call out to their house to explain how it works and show them a demo. You can do all this with a video or a slideshow… or both.

You can do all this with a video or a slideshow… or both.

Remember, a sales funnel means people come to you.

You’re not doing the cold-calling.

It’s a lot easier to sell when someone has signed up to listen to something you’ve got to say because you’re offer was in front of them at the right place at the right time.

After someone has seen your offer on social media or a paid advertisement, the next stage of the sales funnel is the landing page.

3. Landing Page

In internet network marketing, first impressions are key. And when you create a well designed landing page, you’ll quickly establish trust with your potential customers.

You have found thousands of prospects but haven’t yet captured their email address in order to add them to your contact list to recruit. In order to now capture their email address, you will need to build a compelling and conversion optimized landing page.

In order to now capture their email address, you will need to build a compelling and conversion optimized landing page.

Your landing page should have a contact form, capturing headline, key points of the benefits of your offer and a compelling call-to-action (CTA).

It is important that your landing page is completely relevant to the paid ad or social media message you used to get that person to land on your page.

Remember, congruence is key.

So a page that is disconnected from the advertisement you’re running will yield lots of bounces and not many registrants or leads.

4. CTA’s

Having a CTA (call to action) on your landing page is a lot more important than you may realise.

It is what directs the user to take the next step in the buying journey.

This doesn’t mean that a simple “submit” on your form is going to do the trick, though.

Make it stand out with the button in a contrasting color and make it personable with wording such as “Watch The Webinar Now”.

This makes it 100% clear what the user will get after they fill out the form. Also, work to create compelling messaging that has a clear CTA.

Converting Prospects

Now that you have got a nice list of contacts to work on now, it is time to finish the recruitment process with reassurance and to nurture.

This is the last stage in the sales funnel and is the most important because it is the money maker.

At this point, the prospect should have a pretty good idea of what you are offering and how it will benefit them after reading your Facebook message and watching the webinar.

For those who haven’t yet joined, it is time to offer further information and answer questions.

5. Email

Email marketing is the best way you can do this.

Why?

Well firstly once someone opts into your email list, that’s “owned data”.

You can reach them whenever you want (providing they don’t decide to unsubscribe).

You already have their email address, and so you can use a service like Actionetics to send FAQ’s, success stories and even a starter pack. Actionetics offers helpful tools, such as building email lists, creating email broadcasts and action funnels.

Through email automations, you can help strengthen the CRM as well as help turn them into a regular customer/user.

All of these will help answer their questions and reassure them that they too can benefit from network marketing.

An important rule with email marketing though is to segment your contact list.

This is so messages are targeted to each specific persona, how they came to become a prospect and their current behaviour.

Not only will you have higher quality prospects but you’ll be building a stronger relationship with those who are interested in what you have to offer.

Move With The Times…

All of these 5 processes have one thing in common, and that is using digital marketing.

It is time to revamp how you find prospects and how you recruit prospects and become more efficient.

There are people out there, it’s just a matter of getting you and your funnel in front of them (using ads) and then converting them.

Furthermore, sales funnels are a critical component in not only gaining customers, but growing them into returning customers as well. When you integrate digital marketing processes, you’re educating the customer and by doing so, speeding up their decision making and buying process.

And once they trust you and the process, the more likely they are to return and buy from you again.

At ClickFunnels, we train affiliates with various backgrounds on how to successfully advertise and sell software products sold by ClickFunnels.

When you become an affiliate, you’ll earn commission when you referred a customer to try and/or buy the software products. And if that same customer buys another program within the funnel, then they’ll earn additional commission.

  1. I’m sorry but all these articles are soooo basic and generic… Just churning these out to hit SEO keywords and get more ClickFunnels sign ups…

    1. We’re sorry you feel that way Jake. What would you like to see more of on the ClickFunnels blog? If you’re looking for a more advanced article I’d suggest taking a look at The Funnel Hacking Blueprint article or even our latest guest post by James Hepburn. Both offer some really high-level advice!

    2. What is generic to you might be helpful to someone else. Of course all articles help with SEO. You can’t be that ignorant to think that anyone would ignore that. However, there is great content on here. For someone starting out this may be just what they need. Maybe you are far too advanced for anyone. How much money are you making? Maybe as Stephen said you should consider the other articles.

  2. Hey,

Awesome information, thank you! I am currently signed up for the free account with Click Funnels. I am becoming a believer in your system, but I want to hire a web designer/tech person who is familiar with Click Funnels.

Any of the Web Designers I have interviewed don’t seem to even grasp the functionality I want for my e-Commerce site that will host virtual summits. So wondering if you can suggest someone who is either familiar with Click Funnels, or has the ability to understand the complex business needs of an online entrepreneur.

I have a decent budget for this site FYI.

    Thanks,

    Joy

  3. I should first tell you that I am not very technical and have never been an online business person. I got my funnel up finally with the help of support at click funnel support. I am at a loss as to how to get traffic to my website.

  4. Stephen, this was a fantastic article and full of great advice to help someone start out and make money network marketing. We need people like you to put out this helpful information for those that need it. I love Click Funnels. This site is the first one online that truly has everything that anyone needs to build an online business. Thanks again and I look forward to more great content.

  5. Hey guys, love the article! My network marketing site says I cannot generate sales using a website other than the one that they provide me. Would using the funnel to drive traffic to that site be different than “generating sales using a website other than the one they provided”?

      1. Hello Thomas,
Preciate the offer. Altho I must say, I was really hoping for a response to my question from Stephen. Doesn’t seem as tho a response is forthcoming. Good thing I wasn’t holding my breath, Eh?
That said, your remark is a bit confusing to me. Would it be Ok if I ask; What is the difference between MLM & network marketing?
Aside from that, I’m just curious; Are you an affiliate for “moneyninja”? Or, “Nick Anderson”? Or both? Or, Are they one in the same? Or, Both fictional?
I have another question, if you are interested in the conversation. Let me know, Ok?
        All The Best,
        Wirkin

        1. Hey @wirkindawg:disqus , I’m not involved in an MLM myself, I stick to writing about sales funnels and how you can use them to grow your business.

However ClickFunnels is a great tool to help you grow and convert leads in your business.

          1. Hello Stephen,
Thanks so much for getting back to me! I have to admit that after waiting for such a while, I didn’t really expect you to respond. Please excuse.
Reason I asked the question in the 1st place is I would like to make an analytical decision about using click-funnels. Rather than impulse or [mis-] emotional.
The 1st point that appears illogical is that if the funnels actually work, it doesn’t make sense that anyone who knows that wouldn’t use them. Seems like a no-brainier to me that one would utilize that skill or advantage. It would also seem to follow that if the funnels actually worked, participating in an MLM wouldn’t distract one from his passion.
That said, Would it be Ok if I ask you a few more questions? Just so you know, I am not really interested in why you would or wouldn’t participate in an MLM. And, you certainly don’t owe me an explanation, especially in a public forum.
However, I am interested in the statistical performance of sales funnels in establishing, expanding, and maintaining a viable customer base as well as distributor network. All 3 areas. So, If it is Ok with you, I would ask a few more questions. If not, that is Ok too.
In case not, Perhaps you know someone who has analyzed these funnels and would be willing to share his stats with me?
            Once again, Thanks!
            All The Best,
            Wirkin

          2. Every sales funnel is different and works differently.
There are sales funnels for MLMs, physical products, digital products and much more.
The success of your funnel depends on how well you develop it, that’s why I write on the ClickFunnels blog to help educate you on what exactly you need to do with your sales funnel to get it to convert.
I recommend getting on the free trial, playing around with it yourself 🙂
I bet it’ll answer a lot of your questions!

          3. Thanx again for getting back to me Stephen.
Does that mean you aren’t willing to take any more questions? I would presume that you aren’t but, you didn’t exactly say so either.
Well, I appreciate the offer! It had occurred to me to try the free offer but, it only lasts for 2 weeks or some such. That isn’t very long for a test. I may not even get a workable funnel created in that amount of time. Besides, I can already see that the software does what it says it does. That isn’t what I need to find out.
It would also be apparent to me that a click-funnel will work as well as it was created or its content. Surely, yourself or someone else at your company and/or folks in the field have kept stats on the productivity of sales funnels. Wouldn’t you say so?
Are those folks only approachable for a price? In case you change your mind, I would ask a few more questions.
            All The Best,

          4. Still not sure what your question is.
Productivity of sales funnels utterly depends on = traffic, messaging and your offer.
If you get those 3 things right using ClickFunnels, sky’s the limit!
This blog is all about helping you get those 3 areas of your funnel right.
I highly recommend just playing with it for free for 2 weeks and seeing what you think. Support is always on standby to answer your technical questions then 🙂

          5. OOPS! My Bad!
In my 1st response to your 1st response 5 days ago I asked; “Would it be Ok if I ask you a few more questions?”. I just didn’t want to be rude and start firing on you with questions that I didn’t have your permission to ask. Please excuse!

Next paragraph I went on to say; “However, I am interested in the statistical performance of sales funnels
in establishing, expanding, and maintaining a viable customer base as
well as distributor network. All 3 areas. So, If it is Ok with you, I
would ask a few more questions. If not, that is Ok too.”.
You can draw your own questions out of that origination or I can ask you. Which would be easier for you? Or, perhaps you might refer me to someone you know who is already doing that and isn’t “playing around with it” to see if it works or not.

I’m really only interested in network marketing at the moment. If I really only need sales funnels and don’t need friends or family or a network to build a successful MLM, Why the devil wouldn’t I share that with my friends & family & network? I can think of very few of them that wouldn’t be interested! See what I mean?
Anyway, I would like to speak with someone who is familiar with the tools and succeeding with them already.
Does that clear that up for you?
            All The Best,

      1. Hey Thomas!
Where did you see an answer to any of my questions for Stephen? I looked over the thread again and don’t see but one answer and that was to a question I didn’t ask. Perhaps you could show me what I missed.
I appreciate your offer again but, you didn’t respond to any of my questions either. See below. When I mention response that is given to mean relevant to the topic I asked about, just so you know.
I don’t wish to simply make derogatory comments about your program so, I asked a bunch of questions. At first blush the program doesn’t make much sense to me. Hence, I attempted to clarify some points. ‘Til you do respond I don’t see any reason to look at it again. Given the data presented in the video, that was enough in order for me to decide not to participate.
        All The Best,

  6. Hi Stephen,
Interesting article. My concern is I Have zero email list. Yes, absolutely zero in that case do you think my sales funnel would succeed? You might have met lot of people who are experts in showing how to capture leads or how to make your funnel success without email list.

    1. makes me freakin sick. this is MY funnel! dude stole it from me and parading it around. the license that i give with this funnel is for the individual’s downline. NOT how he’s using it. Russell told me “well… if people are stealing from you it means you at least made an awesome product”. Drives me nuts

      1. What drives me nuts is how disheveled and disorganized, this guy is! Instead of taking a few moments to gather his talking points and present them on his SALES PAGE, he just rolls tape and makes it up, as he goes? This guy is a COMPLETE AMATEUR in sales. He is KILLING his conversion rate!

      2. Hey Steve, I am a beginner in the click funnels site. This is awesome and I am really excited to get started but I do not understand what is going on at the moment. Do I need a product? Do I need a extra page to lounge products? and how do I get paid?
        Thank you.

  7. I have been in network marketing for 20 years having good success, I have not used CF yet, but for what I see this could be a great marriage. The advantage of network marketing over affiliate and even continuity programs is the fact that some of the people you sponsor will continue growing there business creating a return on your money much bigger than any other program, example, if just couple of people see the vision, you can suddenly have a stream of new people coming without spending any more money in ads. Even today most of the growth of network marketing comes from the personal contacts, and with social media, the circle of influences are much bigger! The purpose for me with CF is to add new center of influences where I can leverage my business many times over. I see CF as a powerful tool to increase circle of influences!

  8. One more, I think the evergreen webinar approach is the one I will be using more, yet, I m going to be experimenting with product based funnels too.

  9. One of my businesses is network marketing and I am stuck and would like to create a good downline. I believe in the products, the company and the owners and how the products can benefit the customers. But it seems I am not able to generate leads who will be interested in the business, not just becoming customers.

    1. Hey Ananda, I feel your struggles. If you are still looking to get success from network marketing, shoot me a message 😉 I’m building a team right now using internet marketing strategies.

  10. I am trying to implement Funnels right now for my MLM opportunity. The only stumbling block I have is, how do I train my downline to do the same? And how would I present the training in my offer? Thanks a lot for this article!

    1. With click funnels, all you need to do is let them duplicate your funnel. I was on the path of teaching my downline about internet marketing, but It would be easier if they can use my funnel and just change a few pictures or videos.

  11. I’m using CF now and have been in several MLM’s over the years and have always found the marketing model works so now I feel I have the experience to put this into helping lots of people I know, so my question is can you give me any more guidance and Can I use your post here to make it into a report I can use as a lead magnet? Obviously I will add my own take on the subject.

  12. I’ve been reading some really interesting articles about how retargeting can drive customers through the sales funnel. I found a great piece at Treepodia which is in itself a retargeting/dynamic video remarketing company. I’m wondering if any of you guys have had a similar experience with the 4 stages of the sales funnel (introduction, exploration, interest and conversion), and whether your click through rates have also been effective with dynamic video retargeting?

  13. Thats the awesome post mate .. I have started with the click funnels for real estate clients .
also don’t forget to checkout the in depth article for funnel scripts. funnelscriptreview.com

  14. Excellent items from you, man. I have bear in mind
your stuff prior to and you are simply too magnificent.
I really like what you have received right here, certainly like what you’re
stating and the way by which you are saying it.
You’re making it entertaining and you still take care of
to keep it smart. I can’t wait to read far more from you.
This is actually a terrific website.

  15. Hi, I would like to know how to make sales with funnels if the products or packages are purchased from the company website?

    Thank you
    Walter
